ElderSource is committed to ensuring all aspects of our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEI) efforts are incorporated into our organization. These initiatives range from establishing sound hiring practices and employee training, instilling requirements into vendor contracts and modernizing communications channels that create a feeling of inclusion and belonging.
The commitment to DEI is all-encompassing. A new Board committee was created in 2021 to identify specific opportunities to expand agency efforts. ElderSource staff have embraced training sessions which have led to productive and engaging conversations. The Employee Resource Group (ERG), a staff-led group established in 2019, is a crucial space to not only learn and engage, but to share thoughts, ideas and emotions on a variety of topics. Topics presented include racial injustices, embracing LGBTQ culture in the workplace, mental wellness and health, gratitude and leadership skills.
