Agency Notice in Response to COVID-19

Tuesday, March 17, 2020

Here at ElderSource, in the face of COVID-19, our primary, fundamental concerns are the health and safety of our clients, staff, volunteers and community partners, and to educate others on how they can be strong allies for people who are most vulnerable. While listening to medical experts and our partners in the health care community, our agency is taking the following steps:

  • Starting mid-week, ElderSource offices will be closed and staff will work remotely to maintain the function of our Aging & Disability Resource Center and daily operations of the agency.
  • People are encouraged to call the HelpLine for assistance. The HelpLine will remain open Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 p.m.
  • Until further notice, staff will not attend any in-person external meetings and we will not be hosting any guests at our office. Meetings will be conducted using the Zoom platform.
  • Staff will not be participating in any community health fairs or presentations.

We are taking these actions for one simple reason: The more people and organizations that practice social distancing over the next few weeks will make the world an overall safer place for older adults, people with disabilities and their caregivers.

Regardless whether you are at high risk for COVID-19, we encourage everyone to read up on the best practices of how to practice safe hygiene and limit contact to minimize the spread of the virus. We hope you will work with us to be a strong ally for older adults, chronically ill and friends living with disabilities, family members, and peers during this time.

The latest updates can be found on the CDC website.

An announcement about the re-opening of our office to the public will be made via
email, on our website and through social media channels. Thank you and we wish you well.
